What are Dr. Darragh’s credentials?
Most importantly I want you to know I'm a fellow fertility sister. I've been through it all... pregnancy loss, IUI, IVF, ectopic pregnancy, clotting disorders, surgeries. Been there, done that! I don't know your personal story but I've certainly got my own. Those experiences make me keenly aware of the type of struggle you're likely going through.
I've spent a great deal of my professional life digging into the details of fertility and I want to share them with you! I see you, I hear you, I'm one of you.
If you also want to know that I have real professional degrees and all the other studious stuff you can check that out below.

Can lifestyle and nutrition changes really improve fertility?
Well, there are no guarantees, but the changes made and strategies you implement have the potential to optimize your overall health, restore and regulate hormones, improve egg and sperm quality, and enhance fertility outcomes.
The science is clear and the effects are robust that your nutrition and lifestyle do make a difference!

Can you help me if I’m planning to do IVF or IUI?
Yes! IVF and IUI are amazing technologies, but they do nothing to improve the quality of your egg and sperm cells. When lifestyle and nutrition changes are implemented concurrently or ideally for at least 3-4 months prior to IVF or IUI outcomes can be improved.
I also offer support during IVF in terms of understanding the process and medications, guidance on advocating for yourself, emotional support, tips to help with injections, nutrition support, stress management ideas, and recommendations for collaborative care.
Can a ND serve as my primary care provider?
Dr. Tamara Darragh can not serve as your primary care provider.
While NDs are trained in primary care medicine, our scope of practice is limited in the State of Minnesota. We are happy to help you find a primary care provider to be sure you have your bases covered in case you need care which requires acute attention, a new medication or change in your current prescription, hospitalization, surgery or obstetrical care. We love collaborating with other providers as our services often complement each other very well. Many other providers do not have the extensive nutritional, botanical, lifestyle or physical medicine training that NDs receive, but frequently recognize that clients can benefit from this kind of care. NDs can and do take extremely thorough histories and perform extensive physical examinations (if you are seen in the office).
We can order labs (standard & specialty), ultrasounds, x-rays, MRIs, CTs and other diagnostic tests, if you are an established client that has been seen in office. We can make referrals to other health care providers, such as reproductive endocrinologists, internists, gynecologists, oncologists, gastroenterologists, rheumatologists, etc.
Will my visits be covered by insurance?
Naturopathic Doctors are not part of the in-network insurance providers in the state of Minnesota at this time.
Dr. Tamara Darragh is not in-network with any health insurance carrier and therefore cannot accept private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid as a means of payment. We cannot submit insurance claims for reimbursement or assist with claims resolution.
You may be able to utilize the funds in your flexible spending (FSA) or health savings accounts (HSA) to pay for consultations, labs, and supplements. It is important to check with your FSA/HSA about this option.
Some diagnostic imaging may be eligible for insurance billing. This is determined by the diagnostic imaging center and your individual insurance plan. It is your responsibility to check on these benefits.
Payment for the consultation and lab tests are expected at the time of service. We accept credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express). All credit card payments will be processed the same day of the consultation.
Do you offer single visits for new clients?
I do offer single visits for new clients but I don't recommend them. Over the past nearly two decades of doing this work I've come to realize that meaningful change takes time and commitment. That doesn't happen over one, two, or even three visits. The 4-Month Fertility Package structure offers you consistent support through the ups and downs and allows for bite-sized education and changes that feel sustainable.
I'm in it for the long haul. I hope you are too!
If after getting through the initial package visits you want or need to continue care we can absolutely schedule individual visits as needed at that time.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
A 50% deposit for your visit will be collected at the time of scheduling. The remaining balance for your visit fees, supplements, labs, etc will be collected after your visit. The credit card you use to make your appointment will be securely encrypted and stored for this use as needed.
The 50% deposit on your visit is non-refundable if your visit is cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment time or you don't show up. If your appointment is rescheduled within 48 hours of your appointment time and the rescheduled visit is subsequently cancelled or you need to reschedule a second time you will lose your deposit. This policy has been put in place due to the extended length of time blocked for appointments. It is often difficult to fill these last minute. Thank you for your understanding.
You will receive a confirmation email with a link that you can use to cancel or reschedule your appointment at your convenience. You will have up to 48 hours prior to your appointment to cancel your appointment, after which, refunds will not be available.
Are all supplements created equal?
It is important to keep in mind that not all products are made with the same quality standards, no matter what the packaging or label may claim. There is a huge variation in what is made available to consumers.
Although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires companies to verify their products are safe and properly labeled, it does not have a stringent approval or monitoring process in place. This does not mean that all supplements are bad or ineffective because there aren't strict FDA requirements.
Licensed practitioners who use botanical and nutritional therapies from manufacturers and distributors can attest to the quality assurance practices we trust and rely on. Such practices include scientifically validated laboratory testing, ongoing third party verification of quality, purity, and accurate labeling, raw and finished product testing for heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, and common allergens.
Although dietary and herbal supplements are not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle and diet they can be an integral part of good health practices, but they must be correctly dosed and of the highest quality and purity in order to serve their therapeutic purpose.
Dr. Darragh utilizes products vetted for the quality and rigorous manufacturing practices.
How can I purchase good quality supplements?
If you are working with Dr. Darragh, she will make very specific recommendations for you as part of your therapeutic options. You can access most of these products in her online dispensary.
